Jaclyn Reinhart holds nothing back with roots-pop/rock style that blends her influences and love of Americana icons.
With two albums under her belt, she is ramping up for her third release of a 5 Song EP in early 2021. Recorded with John McLaggan at Porch Light Studios (Tomato/Tomato), this new record has her highlighting songs about healing, moving forward, and forgiveness as Jaclyn steps away from her pop-rock style and brings an Americana sound to her new album.
“The project may have started with Jaclyn’s personal journey to healing. Shortly after releasing her One of her first experiences was co-writing, when she was asked to write for the Canadian Song Challenge in 2016 by Music/Musique NB. One of her mentors was Andy Brown (Adyn Townes) an veteren of Folk Pop music whom she wrote “Last Disaster” with. An emotional song that shares an experience about leaving an abusive relationship and beginning the path to healing. At that point Jaclyn decided to explore more co-writing opportunities. She says “The c-writing experience really helped serve as a way to expand on my strengths and really identify ways to improve connecting with people lyricly.”
At that point Jaclyn leaned into uncovering opportunities to continue working on her songwriting craft and went on to attend Canada’s Music Incubator ‘s Artist Entrepreneur Program in 2018. During her time there she was immersed into the world of collaborating with artists such as Riel, Jeremy Voltz, Clear Mortifee and more. This also led to a session at the SOCAN Headquarters where she wrote “Sleep with Ghosts” with Tyler Lombard that has become the title track for the 5 Song EP.
“On “Sleep With Ghosts”, Reinhart displays a maturity and eloquence that, while hinted at with previous recordings, is much more fully realized. Greater things lay in store for this phenomenal songwriter.” - Ken Kelly, Noreaster Online
Her debut five-song EP Favorite Mistakes was released in 2011, and the full-length album Adventures in 2016. Since then, she has been performing on stages across the Maritimes and in Toronto. Some of Jaclyn’s development and career highlights are:
